DVD Review: Astrology Today & The Tao of the Astrological Voyager

This DVD is composed of two different movies: "Astrology Today" and "The Tao of the Astrological Voyager".

Astrology Today

The movie makes an excellent introduction to astrology, going from the history of astrology to nowadays issues of astrology in the society, presenting its philosophical, pshychological and humanistic basis.

It starts with the question: "What is astrology? To most, mention of the word astrology brings to mind popular horoscopes found in newspapers or magazines - based on a particular month an individual is born in, a person may find is personal horoscope based on that particular sign." Then it passes to explain that astrology is much more than that, it actually is our connection to the universe.

"Any moment of time has its own unique qualities.Anything born on that moment, takes the qualities of it." (Kark Jung) This is what a horoscope is: a quality of the moment represented in that chart and in that an infinite number of possibilities in personality, expressions, vocational, medical, relationships issues and timing of when that chart is activated by transits and progressions.

One speaker confesses that nothing has brought him closer to God than the study of astrology. Another one continues that astrology is the life within the Universe. It's just being able to recognize that we are part of the Universe and we are all tied together in a rhythmic process.

The bottom-line idea is that embedded with the symbols of astrology lies a rich and a deep spirituality and that the study of astrology is a tool for great understanding and self realization to aiden the process of individuation and evolution of the self.

The Tao of the Astrological Voyager

The Tao of the Astrological Voyager, the second movie of this DVD, is actually a story on martial arts and a some kind of allegorical astrological initiation of a martial art practitioner. This movie, I didn't quite enjoy, as I have a natal Libra Mars, I'm not quite comfortable with any more aggressive approach to any field, but maybe this would be okay for some others.
