not it has been down but not for 24hrs, may 6or so..

now it shows some php errors on top
i've hosted with hostmonster, hostgator in past for other websites
they go down frequently, though they've good online support
they cant take much load on mysql and for a busy forum like this, they'll bring it down frequently
bluehost is okay but worst customer support

in my experience of hosting busy sites with php+mysql applications over 10 years, i found this to be the best

no issues of going down ever and all customer support emails are answered in 15 mins

moreover, when i moved to above host, they moved all my files and databases from previous host themselves.
i just bought a hosting package, sent an email to them with earlier host login details and slept peacefully.
wokeup in morning to see all sites running on new server

Hi Virinchi, I dont see a problem with this link because after all, we are in the "help with the forums" department. I told Radu about your suggestion last time you mentioned another host, so lets wait and see.

Hopefully it will not crash again. The host (A Small Orange) did some server upgrade recently and this might have been the solution.
If not, changing the host is the ultimate option.

i see this site having a busy forum and using vbulletin which loads mysql considerably looking at the traffic daily
so a regular host will break and bring down your files frequently

i've been trying to post a new thread since 2 days and after i write message and click on submit, i keep getting a page with this message

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/siraxi/public_html/forum/includes/functions_search.php on line 197

i guess this host is not capable of running high end php/mysql tools like many other hosts who claim of unlimited space/bandwidth

This problem should be solved now. I increased the memory allocation on the server.

yeah. even though new posts can be made now, still server is taking lot of time to run an sql query, causing 500/404 errors
