Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?

Hello All,

My question is "Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?" I am supposed to go to California in a couple of weeks for my job. I am Jupiter in the 3rd house. I will take the 9th house for the trip because it is a trip across the country. Leo rules the 9th house so it is represented by the Sun in the 11th house. There are no aspects between Jupiter and the Sun. There is an applying Opposition between the Moon and the Sun. So I think this would be a "No" answer.

Thanks in advance for any feed back.

Re: Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?

Gatorzone, a routine trip would be 3rd house (are you going more often for your job to another place in the same country?. Even if you get an overseas trip, like flying from England to France, but have to do this for your job twice a month, then it is still a 3rd house trip. When the trip is very important, no matter how close to home, then use the 9th. It is the importance of a trip which tells us which house to use, according to John Frawley. Vacations and really long overseas trips which you dont do regularly (no concorde anymore) are always 9th house.

But lets first have a look at house 3. It does look like this is the right house, because ruler Saturn is placed in the 10th house, showing that this is a business trip.

You are signified by Jupiter and the Moon. Jupiter is in the sign of Saturn and in term of Venus. Saturn is in the sign of Libra ruled by Venus so there is some sort of mutual reception between them even though they do not aspect one another.

Moon and Saturn also do not aspect.
The Moon is very strong in Taurus and also ruled by Venus and also in term of Venus, the ruler of Saturn, so I am inclined to say that you are going to make the trip.

Moon is going to trine Saturn right after Moon has changed sign, so after some sort of change regarding this trip, which could be the opposition that Moon will make to the Sun, ruler of the 9th (something legal maybe?) but still, it looks like you will be traveling looking at it from the 3rd.

When we take the 9th, then the Sun rules the trip and we must find a contact between Jupiter, Moon and Sun. Sun will square Jupiter and Moon will oppose Sun. Not very good indications. Looking at it from the 9th house perspective, I say no.

Comparing 3rd and 9th interpretations, overall, I think that the answer could be a "no", because the signifiers do not make a connection in the first example and bad aspects in the second.

When I look at the Yes or No technique of Marc Edmund Jones, then it is also a NO.
(looking at the 3rd and 9th houses and see if the rulers aspect one another).

Please do let me know so I can see in how far I was wrong (or right of course).

Re: Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?

Hi Starlink,

Thank you very much for your feedback. This will not be a routine trip. It is for my job. They want to promote me to a new position for the company. However, in order to do this I must pass a certification test before getting promoted. So I am supposed to go to California to take the certification test.

The problem I have run into is that the book that is supposed to help me prepare for the test has not been released yet. The book is supposed to be released November 6th. However, the release date for the book has already been pushed back once. The original date was supposed to be October 26. I have pre-ordered the book, but now am playing the waiting game for it to arrive.

Re: Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?

Thanks Gatorzone. Well I guess we will have to take the 9th house then, it is an important trip, and as I said earlier on, then it looks less good of course.
Now I just read in another horary thread that sometimes, even though everything looks like a NO, it can still turn out to be a yes, when you see that Venus is conjunct a fortunate star and in this chart she is conjuct Spica, the best there is! And because Venus seems to play such an important role here, being the ruler of your Moon, who knows!
That book, now that you mentioned it, is then also ruled by Saturn and Saturn just entered into a new sign which could be interpreted as the book, just being released, so I guess you could still get it in time. But if you manage to learn all there is to learn in order to pass the exam, I dont know, but an exam/test, is also the 3rd house and Saturn being in exaltation, well, that also does not look bad does it?!

Now the Sun (trip) is in term of Jupiter (you), but Sun , luckily, just entered her own face, the only dignity she has in Scorpio. Both placements are therefore very helpful.
The ingoing opposition from Moon to Sun then could probably show the contact between you and the trip, but not without considerable difficulty. Moon is very strong but not well placed in the 6th, while Sun of course is in the Via combusta and in the 12th. Well, lets see, I am really curious. Keep me posted and good luck to you!

Re: Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?

Hi Starlink,

I wanted to give you some feedback on the trip. It turns out that the book was released, but it still has not shipped. So I was supposed to go to California to take the test on Monday November 16th. However, since I have yet to get the book to help me prepare for the test I think I am going to California some time in January instead. That will be the next time they offer the test.

So I won't make the trip next week, but maybe in a couple of months instead.

Re: Will I make the trip in 2 weeks?

Thanks for the feedback Gatorzone. Then it is clear that both 3rd or 9th house show a no. Ruler 3 does not make an aspect with ruler 1 and ruler 9 will square ruler 1.

I must learn to stick to the minimal interpretation and not try and look for "goodies" in the hope to find something more positive. Just see if ruler 1 will make a good aspect to ruler 9 (in this case)

and this:
Quote:
the opposition that Moon will make to the Sun
And the "yes or No" technique of Jones proves to be right as well. Oh oh, I should trust this technique more
