Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
Hello. I am seeking advice on which career would be most suitable to my needs and talents, as well as one that will bring in a considerable amount of money, or be very lucrative.
As for my interests and talents, I am currently an independent recording artist and seeking to be picked up by a major label, but the music industry today is hit-and-miss and opportunities are rare. I will still continue to make music if I do not accomplish my goal, but I am unsure as to whether or not music will be a source of income.
I am also a writer and my subjects are Jupiterian (religious/philosophical) and Neptunian (spiritual, otherworldly) in nature. Again, I am not sure if this will yield forth a satisfactory income.
I hope to one day tackle the issue of science and religion becoming united once and for all, and I would like to tie this in with group projects and large social movements as implied by my Sun in 11th house, but I'm not quite sure how to go about doing this.
I am including my birth chart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
Lady Aries, I dont think that Music or Writing can ever make much money unless you are famous, unfortunately.....
You have the Sun in Aries as ruler of the 2nd house of income, as well as the 3rd house of communication, in the 11th house. Also the NN is situated there, indicating indeed that it is here where you should make things happen.
Sun as ruler of your 2nd is ruled itself by Mars, also in the 11th, so again an indication that it is in group projects and/or large social organisations like UNICEF, where you could earn your money. But that Mars is opposed by Saturn retrograde who rules your 7th.
First of all this could imply that it will sometimes be a struggle (Saturn) for you to get the desired income, because you might underestimate this idea of earning much money (Sun trine Neptune and Moon square Neptune as well as the ruler of the Sun square Neptune).
Secondly it seems to me that cooperation with others is not your strongest point. You rather do things in a leadership role or on your own and you can be quite stubborn.
Your MC ruler Neptune in the 6th does point to a service orientated sort of work.
Now have you ever thought of psychology or becoming a consultant? These are 8th house careers. The 8th as well as the 9th house ruler is Uranus and your Moon, Asc. ruler in the 10th is trining that Uranus. That also shows that you would like a career where you have the freedom to do what you want. When working in a group, you wont have that, unless you are the leader of that group.
The traditional ruler of the 10th house is Jupiter and that one is also in your 8th house. This is a house which deals with resources of others. Now it could be the resources of a big organisation maybe. Having the ruler of the Sun in Taurus, a sign who knows about handling money, maybe that would be something. I know, it is not very artistic, but you can always do the artistic urges in you as a hobby after all.
Now, if you think you are a good writer, than I would opt for that choice as the ruler of the 12th (needing seclusion when writing) is Mercury and Mercury, ruler of all written and spoken words is conjunct the ruler of your creative house Venus in your 10th, forming a strong Stellium there. It does show your ambition to do something in this world we are living in.
But again, these three are ruled by Mars opposite Saturn, and Mars in a Venus sign is also not too strongly placed, but determined, so it means hard work and probably slow road to success. But when you stand out in the crowd with your writings, then of course, the money could be good.
Hope this helps a bit.

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
Thank you so much. I have a blind spot when it comes to my weak points so I need these objective viewpoints of outsiders. I also like to twist facts to create the outcome I would like to see, like right now I'm banking on the fact that my Sun ruling 2nd and 3rd could mean my performance skills and stage presence can lead to money through music, but I could be deluding myself even further.
And it has always been my deepest and dearest ambition to be insanely famous - for good reasons - so that stellium has been hard at work since I was a child.
I will, however, consider everything you've pointed out. Thanks again!

Your chart has expired therefore no one else can comment
Perhaps you could repost putting your progressed, SA's and transit from www.astro.com --- it's free and very reliable.
For help on how to do this, go here. There is an option in Extended chart selection to ‘anonymised drawing (without name)’ box http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12126

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
Hi Aries Lady,
You'll have to upload your chart, because the image below said is has expired. When/if you repost your chart I'll take a look at it.
But, to answer your question from a common sense perspective - i.e., from person-to-person as opposed from just relying on your chart - there are some things I'd like to point out....
What you expressed in your post seems to suggest that careers that will enable you to utilize and express your creativity would be the most suitable.
As for the possibility for bringing in large amounts of income from same, it can be done. It might be very difficult - and may require you to take a different route(s) to make it happen - but it is by no means impossible. The reason why I say this is because I have found it to be very difficult for highly creative people to find careers, since they normally have a plethora of interests, abilities, ideas and objectives that deviate from the norm of a typical "occupational description" job.
Quite often, they are highly entrepreneurial spirits that do best when they take matters into their own hands and create something new, useful and extraordinary (that sets them apart from the rest) - rather than place their dreams at the mercy of others' decisions, who may or may not recognize (or be interested in) their talents.
This is why it is critical that in deciding whatever career(s) it is that you want to pursue - or in surveying those you might want to pursue - you should take inventory of yourself: of who you are as a person, of what your interests are, of what your convictions are, of what matters most to you in life, of your values, your capabilities, your motivations, etc..., because a career is something that is going to consume a large part of your life.
Pay very close attention to what you see yourself doing the most, to what literally wakes you up, and to the kind of abilities associated with same. When get more involved with tapping on that door, listening to and taking heed from what really (((awakens))) your spirit (not only in what you seek to do but the USE of specific physical, mental, emotional, material, and spiritual resources - in the process and enjoyment of self-operating at a high level in a particular activity or niche[s]), you will find not only the answer what you should do but HOW you can go about best doing it (for no one knows yourself better than you).
Perhaps you can combine your interests in music, writing, and socialistic concerns into a unique medium of expression...something of revolutionary value to yourself and others. Whatever the case, demonstrate excellence at what you do! Not as to compare to others but from an inner love of and interest in what you do for its own sake! That will enable you to live up to, express and apply your highest standards and abilities in such areas more than anything someone else can tell you.
And don't let anybody tell you what you seek to do can't be done. As long as it is agreement with the laws of metaphysical reality (that is, as long as you don't think you're a bird and try fly like one with just your arms and legs [unless, of course, you're hand gliding, in which case you'd possess the addition equipment to make it possible]), then you're chances of success are only limited by your determination, effort and drive to make it happen.
Also, don't let anybody tell you "Well, it's just the way things are." That's equally not true. The way things are have not been the way they've always been (unless you're talking about reality - existence itself - and human consciousness/perception....those are things that "just are").
When it comes to people, things are never set in stone. In fact, we are the one's who create or make change.
You'll be surprised at how much you can get accomplished when you listen to, follow, stay true to and apply your own highest vision and standards.
If what I wrote seems to be a lot, it's only because it is an issue I find to be of major importance and consequence. And I would rather you save time and not disappoint yourself by looking too much outward to find your ideal career. You are equipped with more resources and hidden potentials than you realize (each person is) and when you devote time to bringing them out, honing them and coming up with a strategic, practical, precise (and/or inspirational) strategies to make them happen - they will!
Warm regards,

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
hi lady aries
i see that you're more inclined towards music but retro venus (i'm looking at this chart in vedic method based on your data in above chart) will not make you famous in this field and won't let you make much out of it.
your inclination towards art started in 2007 but i dont see much success
jupiter will make you a natural, freeflowing writer and thats better choice
you can write anything if you try
be it a story, poem, article, editorial, news, script, movie screenplay..or anything
so try writing

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
but remember that for next 18 years you wont derive satisfaction from writing also
* the moment an artist derives satisfaction, his art stops

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
Thanks again. I'll work on following careers that match my traditional MC ruler in mutual reception with Uranus, tying it in with Mercury/Venus square Neptune for the writing, and find a career that allows me to work with and speak before large groups and organizations as shown by 11th house Sun. I'm studying vocational astrology books closely and even though I don't seem to fit a single category I'm sure I can somehow unite all of my interests into one.
I've interpreted natal charts for several people on the side for free so who knows, I may become an astrologer in late life. I love this forum and I'll keep coming back!

Yes, and I also mentioned that writing possibility in my post Nr.2 at the end.

Attention new members
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19968
May I suggest you read the 'sticky' at the top of ALL forums? It has some great explanations, links etc and also has links to forum rules & regs...At the top of every forum there are lots of ‘stickys’ which explain matters in that forum, along with guidelines, tips and forum rules
It's obvious to me now you do have a sound knowledge of astrology and am surprised your thread remained in this forum and was not moved by Mods to GL. The forum rules state you must first give an astrological interpretation yourself before members can contribute. It's a shame you didn't see fit to do this cos you would I'm sure got far greater responses, cos this would have given members a platform or starting point, with your knowledge of astrological techniques ----
Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.
Researching rulers of houses will help you understand more where I joining the dots so to speak
http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/rulersofhousesinhouses.html
http://www.trans4mind.com/personal_development/astrology/LearningAstrology/housesDerived.htm
You have calculated your chart using the default on astro.com of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.
Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_(astrology)#Description
http://www.astrolozy.com/article19.asp
http://www.skyviewzone.com/birthinfoforms2/housesexplained.htm
It's only with study and research will you be able to assess where your planets are deposited and in which houses... thus see which 'glove fits'
Now in Equal house your moon, merc and venus are in 9th but moon is conj 10th house cusp and anything within 5' orb is considered to be more effective in the next house. Your sun would be in 10th also lastly pluto in 4th. Now having Saturn in 5th house of creativity will delay and limit your creative expressions.
Your mercury and venus square neptune is the delusions, illusions connected to your thinking, communications and artistic expressions and 'rose tinted glasses'

Sun square or opposition Pluto
People born under a challenging aspect between the Sun and Pluto are prone to inner tension and negative, self-destructive behavior. When things are going well, they suffer from fears that something will come along to change that. Their thought patterns can be negative, and if not kept in check, they can seriously undermine their happiness. Constantly worrying that the rug will be pulled from under their feet can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy
http://cafeastrology.com/natal/sunplutoaspects.html
This aspects can sugggest problems with father, males and authority figures and can be dogmatic (ie: always thinking their right)
Sun Quincunx (Inconjunct) Saturn
It is easy for you to take on responsibilities that aren't yours while ignoring ones that are. Because you work hard and aren't always recognized or compensated for it, you often "run out of steam" before your work is done. Your life works best when you learn to take care of your most important responsibilities first.
http://cafeastrology.com/natal/quinc...retations.html
Mars opp Saturn--You are capable of great self-control and self-denial and can be a hard task master, expecting far too much of yourself. You also tend to hold yourself back, to doubt your own power and ability. You feel that you meet with great resistance whenever you try to assert yourself or take initiative. Anger and frustration can be big problems for you, especially when you try to work with other people or depend too much on others for support. You work best in solitude.
http://cafeastrology.com/natal/marssaturnaspects.html
This is basically a frustration and waste of your energies and being held back from childhood by father or male authority figures...
With stellium planets in Aries their is lots of impatience and restlessness, but having the lights in 10th house of capricorn shows you want to be 'known for something' but I feel you may well just end up a perpetual student with those planets in 9th and that's prob where you will derive much pleasure always learning new things but always doing things quickly and fast (aries)
Your chart lacks the element of air and only 1 planet in 11th air house. You have lots in fire -- action am sure lots of frustration as to where to channel it.
Lack of elements http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18077
Your Neptune ruler of MC in 6th house suggests perhaps one of the caring professions and being of service to people. Neptune is the most challenged planet in your chart and can/will affect your health by way of mysterious hard to diagnose illnesses. Also with uranus their they will prob be quite sudden. I don't see an awful lot of creativity with Saturn in 5th but with mercury ruling IC may suggest writing, communicating from home roots.

Re: Please Help With Advice on Choosing A Suitable Career
Yeah sorry I didn't read the rules. Had I done that, I could have very well interpreted the implications of planetary positions first and then asked what you all thought.
I use the Placidus house system which places my MC in Pisces because I feel I am much more dreamier and confused when it comes to choosing a career than I am direct or active as Aries would imply, which would place the 3 Aries planets in 10th, seeking authority and fame for my efforts moreso than broader knowledge and higher education. Also, Pluto in 5th house fits more with the constant transformation my creative expression undergoes, pushing myself beyond my limits.
Sun opp. Pluto is my best challenge but Mercury square Neptune is very troublesome as I have been diagnosed with a lifelong mental illness for which I refuse to take medication and have been involuntarily hospitalized several times in the past 4 years. Aside from that, I actually enjoy the symptoms because I am most prolific in my creative endeavors during those periods. Thank you for your time.
