I agree that meeting people online is nice because you get to know them intellectually in ways you might not in person. There are also things that someone might actually find easier to list in a dating profile than to say in person. I'd rather quickly know some key things that are important to me than to go through offline dating only to find out something that's a show stopper.

On the flip side of all this, online dating has it's drawbacks too. While there is the meeting of minds you generally don't get to hear their voice, see their body language, etc. unless they have a webcam. Even then there are things that are lost through digitization. And of course it's really all about eventually meeting in person anyway.

Some good news about this second chance to meet an exact Mars-Venus Conjunction: We have scheduled to meet this Sunday. Something that's starting to get to me is that darn Venus in Gemini.. I haven't met too many women with that planet-sign combo, but I've read plenty about it and I am a little bit worried. I can't go into personal details here, but there are already some negative things typically associated with Venus in Gemini that have popped up. However, she has made it clear that she is very against cheating/lying in a committed relationship, but before it becomes committed, well... I've probably said too much (and I'm not saying cheating/lying is involved before commitment).

I don't know if it's going to work out or not, but I'll be damned if I let this second chance with an exact Mars-Venus Conjunction slip through my fingers again! I can say this, so far things have been much more sexually charged (only online at this point of course) with this Mars to my Venus than the other way around with the first girl. It's funny, the first girl was almost too coy/reserved (my Mars to her Venus), but this girl (her Mars to my Venus) it's the other way around. She might even be too much to deal with, but I won't know until we meet and see what happens from there. We do have a lot of common interests, so it's not all just about the sexual compatibility.
I wouldn't base too much on just Venus in Gemini. I didn't look at her chart, but a nice Sextile to Saturn or maybe even Pluto might curtail the negatives of this Venus placement. Personally, I have found more cheaters with Venus in Pisces than anyone else. Go figure. I think it has more to do with indecisiveness than anything else.No offense to any of you out there, just my personal experience.
BTW, her Mars conjunct your Venus would say she is much more forward and sexually aggressive than you. The Mars person is almost always the aggressor.
Please update us on your meeting!

Re: Something amazing has happened..

Kaminari- You are right. My friend met her hubby online.

I think that the intellectual part of the meeting and talking is great, but one must rememeber that what happens over the internet is only about 10% of the actual relationship. So it seems hard to see starwatcher get the emotions so high to only get hurt.
I wish you the best and hope that Sunday works out!
I am glad you are not only looking at sexual chemistry, shows you are a nice guy! Sometimes those nice guys, get the gals last, but get the good ones!

Reyka-
You are right....by your opinion
I just have an opinion too.

Oh sorry Reyka I was trying to make a joke....about my opionion that he was 22...
I guess my words are not coming out right the past few days! Mercury is being squared by neptune...could be the culprit...

I am sorry too if I offended or hurt your feelings

I misread the chart...I read the chart of the gal instead.

Good luck too!!!

Gosh, that sounds like me in this last relationship... And I met him through the net, too...
Hmm... I keep my fingers crossed.

Re: Something amazing has happened..

My Mars is exactly conjunct my husband's Venus. I don't know about me being more aggressive...

I think it may say more about him being attracted (Venus) to my physical appearance (Mars). I also think that sign has to do with it. In our case, the conjunction is in Libra. Venus in Libra feels more at home than Mars there.

Smile Hmm....

So here's the update and more information about the situation.

We met Sunday (11-08-2009) around 11:10am in Minneapolis (I finally got to meet a Mars-Venus exact Conjunction, woohoo!). It was one of the best days I've had in a long time. There was definitely a strong physical attraction, as well as great interaction. We went to a pub that has board games and video games. We played a game, did things on her laptop, and had some great conversation for hours. Afterward we went to a park with lots of sculptures and wondered around for a bit. Sadly she had to leave early (I knew about this a day in advance) because of an unexpected problem with a college project. Right before she left we kissed, and it was one of the most passionate kisses I've ever had. We have another date set for next Sunday.

Now, the whole Venus in Gemini thing is what is getting to me. I'll elaborate on what I've already said about it. Since this is basically anonymous I'll go into some more personal details (otherwise I wouldn't). About a week ago or less she admitted that she is seeing not one, not two, but three other guys. The fact she is seeing other people bothers me somewhat although I know it's normal thing to do before becoming exclusive, but what is really making me feel sick to my stomach is that they are all sexual relationships. She says she has never done this before, it's something new for her.

She's had nothing but bad experiences in past committed relationships. The last long-term one (about 1½ years) was particularly horrible. She's not sure what's she's ultimately looking for, she's not sure she wants another committed relationship. She has been cheated on in the past, she says she has never been the one cheating, and she says if she did decide to commit again that she would never cheat. It's always possible she's lying, but I believe her unless at some point I have reason to think otherwise.

My feelings are very conflicted. If it wasn't for the sexual relationships with three other guys I have no doubt it would be full steam ahead. Because I feel she is sincere when she says she wouldn't cheat in a committed relationship, and because she's not completely closed off to the idea of a committed relationship, I think that's why I'm continuing to pursue her. I do really like her and am very excited about our next date in a week. I'm just not sure what to do about these conflicting feelings. For now I figure I'll continue to pursue her until I have a better idea of where it's going, but the thought of her being with those other guys sure is depressing as all hell. I've never been in this situation before. Yes I've been cheated on numerous times in the past (maybe that's where these negative feelings are coming from) but this is something different.

Any more advice is appreciated. Thanks to everyone who has already given advice and to those who will next.

Isn't the point of dating numerous people is to find someone you can have a long-term committed relationship with? At least ultimatley I think that is what most people want. Given her past experiences, I think she is smart in dating several men. Did she say she is sexual with all of them? Even if she was, if she is single it's her prerogative, right? Men do it all the time, yet eventually they settle with one woman. If you two are right for each other, the other men will naturally fall away as your relationship deepens. Don't let your worries ruin the things before it happens. If the relationship progresses, maybe you should hold off on sleeping together until you are ready to commit to being in an exclusive relationship. Then you will know you aren’t sharing her.

Re: Hmm....

Vista: They are all sexual. I also found out she is spending the night with one of them this Saturday, right before we get together on Sunday. The guy is a poly. She's stated that she's not romantically pursuing any of the other guys. There's something that really bugs me about her spending the night with a guy right before our day together. It just doesn't seem right to me. I'm a guy and I've never done anything like that before, so to say "men do it all the time" is not right.

Re: Something amazing has happened..

hi starwatcher,
sorry it didn't work out but i suspected it would not but did not post as you seemed so excited.
the aspect in the composite chart that indicated this was a dry hole is the T square in the composite with moon square the venus/neptune opposition.when i saw this i knew she was playing the field so to speak as this configuration shows a complex and deceptive emotional make up in the relationship.comparison of single aspects in the synasty was just wishful thinking.
the composite also has a mercury oppose to uranus which gives the intense mental conversations but it also implies that you have very different viewpoints that would have made the relationship difficult.for furture reference, neptune square any personal planet brings unexpected complexity into a relationship at the minimum.
actually you got off lightly,if your infatuation had become intense you might have had a depressive let down.

You can go do astrodienst and get a synastry or composite done for yourself. It is a big ask for anyone else.

I have both Venus and Mars in Libra and agree that Mars there has trouble with anger and can be sweet with words even when angry. The beauty of Mars in Libra is that it usually indicates non violence. Can use intellect to overcome problems and be more detached.

Re: Something amazing has happened..

THere so many synastic aspects between two people that it can become extremely confusing and contradictory. To do a composite chart is recommended if you have accurate times of birth, and that will give the potential dynamics of the relationship and the basic motivation for it.

It has been my experience that even the most promising synastry does not mean the couple will be together. That there has to be strong Saturn aspects for endurance is true. Nodal contacts also. We attract others often to learn lessons and grow so some squares are important.

The ascendant is very important and not much credence is given to this I find, by others.

Re: Something amazing has happened..

Well Venus in Pisces is not indecisive as such but not really discriminating. That drugs and alcohol play a part in their actions is often the case.
They can feel sorry for someone and want to save them also, with love.
They may find it hard to keep boundaries or to say no when they should.

Re: Something amazing has happened..

If it can lift your spirits, Starwatcher, I have Venus in Gemini but I never cheated on anyone (nor dated two men at the same time, for that matters ).

How did your second date gooo??
I surely hope for you and your blooming relationship you didn't get sexual, like Vista said.
[I must say... If I was in your shoes, dating someone who's seeing other 3... ...Quite unromantic, to say the least.]

I don't blame you for being bugged. I guess the good news is that she isn't hiding it from you so you have a choice rather than finding out somehow on your own when you are more involved. I am happy to hear that you don't sleep around; unfortunately, the majority of my guy friends do as they have shared their experiences with me time and again. I have also experienced it from many of the men I have formerly dated, so that is why I say "men do it all the time" because that is what my experiences have been. I still have hope to find a nice guy though, someone who doesn't sleep around.
Good luck with her and keep us posted.

Re: Something amazing has happened..

Speaking of birth charts and how they contribute to cheating, would someone with this chart be expected to be faithful?

Leo Sun
Scorpio Moon
Aries Rising
Mercury Cancer
Venus Leo
Mars Leo
Jupiter Aries
Saturn Sagittarius
Uranus Sagittarius
Neptune Capricorn
Pluto Scorpio

And it's good to hear that you still trust this new girl even after the ex of seven years cheated. Hopefully you'll be the one she commits to in the end.
