To be quite fair it's not like the Baby Boomers all thought the same. I'm saying this as a Millennial.
If anyone thinks the 60s were all Austen Powers and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice they should go watch the first half of the Deer Hunter.
polio vaccine beginning.Pluto in Virgo changed technology and helped to complete many of Pluto in Leo's ideas, without as much fanfare. They also rebelled against the glamour of the previous generation, but many of those had Uranus conjunct Pluto in Virgo. Even if they deny it, many of them do like order/structure, at least the ones without the Uranus conjunction.

That explains why the 1920's had a "fun" vibe about it!
The "Roaring Twenties"! Did an astrologer choose that appellation for the Neptune Leo transit?
And, how about the "Soaring Sixties", with the Eagle for Neptune in Scorpio?
Ha, maybe!
Certainly no coincidence.
Were the sixties ever really called that? I've never heard that before.
The Neptune in Scorpio era did include the first space flight and the moon landing.
The Moon landing was right at end of the Neptune's transit through Scorpio.
Neptune was in Sagittarius from around 1970 to 1984! Sounds right! A lot of religious cults and stuff around that time! Also the hippie look of the 1970's reminds me of Sagittarius!
Oh yeah! I forgot! Disco is also very Sagittarius; Brass, big hair, high energy dancing, bouncy, and subtly comical! The Disco era! Showing off your clothes and your dance moves. High energy. Cocaine. And astrology was being discussed on the radio. Lots of astrology.

And, the New Age Movement. The end of the Draft and the Vietnam War.
Possibly also, the Eagle is also the symbol for America; America has landed on the Moon....The Moon landing was right at end of the Neptune's transit through Scorpio. And, yes, "Soaring Sixties" was pertaining to the Moon landing, (NOT to soaring high on LSD, which was also happening).
So, again relating the Eagle to the "higher level of Scorpio", there is a famous saying by astronaut Neil Armstrong when he first walked on the Moon:
"The Eagle has landed!"
Probably Pluto in Leo. It's been the "me - me" years... for sure and the older Politicians show us this without doubt. Of course some of them are Pluto in Cancer but very few left. Pluto in Cancer I think is more about the "homeland", WW2 and protectionism of the homeland. But otherwise, I agree with you entirely, it was much harder to be gay, to be black. You just didn't "come out" as a gay person, at least my friends didn't as teenagers so that was sad. I lived in those times, during the 1960s trying to go to work, drive to work during the race riots when MLK Jr was assassinated. The big cities were put on fire. during MLK Jr' assassination. People were very angry, the opposite of what his teachings were. Sad times. He was more of a Buddhist persuasion then Christian although of course a Christian pastor in his spare time. A few years earlier, I was 16 but working in an Insurance Co. when JFK was assassinated and the newsboy on the corner was selling the paper and yelling the headline, so I went down and purchased the paper for the office bosses. We all cried. We all went home early that day. And just a few years later RFK (Bobby Kennedy) was running for President in California) and was assassinated. I was in bed and the clock-radio went off, so I heard it on the radio. Just shocking again.I still think the killer was paid by someone however to take the entire fall. The 'Narcissistic' energy in the US definitely began during the Silent Generation, or Baby Boomer, generation! So, Pluto in Cancer, or Leo?
