Hello Everyone,

I would like to see a thread going about financial astrology. For now I don't have any specifics. However, I just purchased the 2025 book from Raymond Merriman and would like to discuss that.
So this coming weekend I plan on posting something, which might only be a question, I am not a professional or experienced astro trader. But it might get us going.

Warm regards, gis
P.S. It would be wonderful if there are others who have Raymond's book as well.

Okay, one of Raymond Merriman's points is Neptune entering Aries on March 30, 2025.
Since he is mentioning that he must think that it has an influence on the economy/financial markets.
Neptune being the ruler of a water sign (Pisces) should not feel that great in a fire sign like Aries.
But what is the connection between Neptune and the financial markets, I wonder and ponder?

More in the coming days, gis

Hi again,

well, intention and realization are currently not best friends in my case. Just can't find the time to post more.

So here is a small bit from Merriman's weekly update:

On January 12, 2025, Mars will be closest to Earth for its two-year period. https://earthsky.org

It is with great sorrow that we witness the devastating wildfires destroying so many homes, schools, businesses, and lives in southern California this past week. The cost to rebuild will be enormous for both insurance companies and individuals who could not afford (or even get) fire insurance on their homes prior to this outbreak.

In an effort to understand this from the cosmic point of view, let’s begin with the awareness that the study of astrology assigns Mars rulership over fires and heat. Mars has an orbit of nearly two years, and it will reach its closest distance to Earth in that 2-year orbit this week, January 12. Additionally, the Sun and Mars will be in opposition (with the Earth in between the two) on January 15-16.

This is truly a Martian beginning to the New Year. Furthermore, Mars is also retrograde (December 7-February 23), which behaves much like Mercury retrograde in terms of market activity and mundane matters. In fact, we are presently in a retrograde chaos period, where all the personal planets (Mercury, Mars, and Venus) will undergo their retrograde cycles back-to-back between November 25, 2024, and April 12, 2025. This is rare. It indicates a challenging time for investors and position traders as markets can fluctuate wildly in a short time, breaking support and resistance along the way, only to suddenly reverse again in a “fake-out.” Yet it can be very profitable for aggressive traders who are nimble and apply the axiom that all traders must follow: maximum profit potential with minimal market exposure.

So, how is one to approach a period when Mars and personal planetary retrograde cycles are so prominent? It is a time to cultivate strategies, but not to initiate them. It is a time to gather information and begin to make plans, but not the best of times to enact those plans or strategies. With Mars retrograde, the initiator of an aggressive act is usually the loser.

Mars is not only the god of fire, but also the god of war. When retrograde, people are easily offended and “triggered” to react, especially with Mars now in the emotional and protective sign of Cancer. This is not a time to be a bully or to allow oneself to be bullied. There will be several cases of bullies on the loose now, as well as those who are critical in nature, with no solutions to offer for what they perceive to be legitimate complaints. Ignore them. Don’t seek to challenge them.

On the investment side, Mars in Cancer may be bullish for precious metals and other commodities, which tend to rally when bullies are on the loose and given to saber-rattling and pointing out wrongs about you or about life. Rise above it. Don’t react, and try to explain with logic. The markets (and most people) may not be logical right now. They may be more emotional. Don’t trade by logic and with a view to the distant future. Instead, consider trading in 2-8-day increments or swing trades. Leave your core positions alone and perhaps consider writing calls against them for income after sharp rallies during this retrograde chaos.

You can read the whole article here: https://www.mmacycles.com/free-week...olumn-for-the-week-beginning-january-13-2025/

The most impressive thing for me is the synchronicity of Mars being so close to planet earth and the fires in L.A.

Until next week the latest, Richard

Thank you so much for putting up this link ☺️. I am in the middle of watching it now. She says something that starts at about 36 minutes in that (to me) was amazing. I have admired this woman for decades 🤩. I'm getting to see and hear some of what I have missed out on all these years.

Neptune in Aries is going to be a REAL problem. Somewhere I heard that every time Neptune goes into a fire sign the market tanks. Aries is especially dicey because of the association of Neptune in Aries during the Civil war. We are on the verge of that cycle. If you are interested in Financial Astrology, I think the best book you can get is Louise McWhirter's Theory of Stock Market Forecasting as a starter. I've noticed that youtube videos have a lot of nice crumbs, but they're promotional. Christeen Skinner might be a second author to check out, as well as Malcolm Bucholtz.

Grace Morris talks about this in her interview (see Post #5). She said Neptune in fire signs is an indication of high inflation and interest rates, Neptune has a 14 year cycle, and there will be high inflation and interest rates in the late 2020's.

The interest rate for a 30 year mortgage now is 6.932%. In 1981, the interest rate was 18.63%. Neptune was in Sagittarius.
"In the late 1970s, in America, prices were rising fast. In other words, inflation was running rampant, usually thought to be the result of the oil crisis of that era, government overspending, and the self-fulfilling prophecy of higher prices leading to higher wages leading to higher prices. The Fed was resolved to stop inflation. So, Chairman Paul Volcker (who is pictured above) kept raising rates in 1980 and ’81, eventually bringing both the economy and inflation to a standstill."- Link

I think people should work on paying off their credit card balances now. Even though the mortgage rate is low, interest on credit cards has increased to the 30's on some cards. This started happening in 2023.

This was published 10 months ago. He's talking about April to June of 2024. I skipped huge sections because he talks slowly and continuously claps his hand in front of the microphone. I have concluded that the video title was click bait. Did you discover any useful information in this video?

His attitude toward the viewer was rather demeaning. I figured it to be a scam as he acted like he knew everything and we are nothing. I also checked on the account and it belongs to some woman, and his video was a one and done. No other videos on that account. BTW, I really liked your response to my post. Neptune in Sag. That started me off down the rabbit warren, because it's not just first quarter, opposition, it's also looking at Neptune in terms of thirds of the cycle so you can land on the next fire sign. Then it was, oooh, this really shows that the orbit is more oval. Been reading Stan Barker's book on the Neptune cycle, "Signs of the Times" on Internet Archive. Very interesting read.

I will check out Stan Barker's book online. I have been reading Financial Astrology, edited by Joan McEvers. One thing that's interesting about one of the chapters, Carol S. Munn, who co-founded AstroEconomics with Grace Morris, wrote a chapter called "Predicting the Dow." I went through her qualifications of "Aspects For Economic Depression" and I did not find them to be accurate. I am going to look at that chapter again.

....I tried to borrow Stan Barker's book, but could not, even though I was signed in.
