How important are planets conjuncing the Vertex in compatibility?

I've heard that the Vertex is important in synastry, so I'm wondering how true it is.

Like, what would the Sun conjunct Vertex mean? It is positive? Or just fated, which could be good or bad?

Or what about a planet like Neptune conjunct the Vertex? Would it suggest soul mate material, or a delusional relationship? I don't know how to interpret these aspects...

I've discovered that vertex conjunctions in synastry give a a telepathic connection, an ability for one person to manifest reality in another person's world. When the other person is stressed, the first will feel it, or hear the thoughts. If the other person is really focused on something the two share, the second person will see it manifest in their reality - messages on billboards, car license plates, songs that pop up into their head. I've had this happen with a couple people close to me. It doesn't mean soul mate, it just means a very close psychic connection.
