Is Mars in 3rd or 4th house in my chart?

Thank you all for your kind help.

Hoping you may be able to clarify a specific detail for me.
I am curious to know wether Mars is in my 3rd or 4th house according to the vedic system.

When I generate a chart myself it seems to depict Mars in the 3rd house. However when I try an automated manglik chart generator it indicates that Mars in the 4th house in my chart.

Would really appreciate your opinnions on the matter. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Mars is in your 4th house, right in the middle of that house, by whole sign, equal house and sripati house, Sir. This is based on the traditional house systems used in Jyotish which treats the house cusp as being in the middle of the house (all three house systems).

Some folks (KP) use the cusp at the beginning of the house which is a departure from Jyotish. In that possibly, mars being on the cusp might fall in the 3rd house. Mixing KP with Jyotish is probably not a good idea.

I can see how it causes unsteadiness in my career already and how it has caused disturbances at home.

You are very welcome!
It is not a bad placement per se. It constitutes mangal dosh (mars-blemish) if such an individual does not marry a partner who has a similar blemish (mars or Saturn) and can cause ill-health in the partner and certain other negative effects.
By itself, mars in the fourth does not imply problems in career etc, but if it is afflicted or a functional malefic or weak etc, then it can indicate problems at home and work.
Remedies can reduce the impact of the negativity of this and other placements of mars, however, opinions and experiences vary about the type of remedies etc.

Rather than cherry-picking bits and pieces from a chart, a much better (perhaps the only!) approach is to do a full reading, since the horoscope has many many factors which interact and if we do not discuss the entire matrix, then things can get missed.

Funny thing is, when drawing the chart myself using Astro I notice the houses are numbered so I can exactly where planets were placed. I could swear beforehand whatever I was doing I could see no markings and was trying to guess.

Things to concern here is Mer/moon graha yudha which leads to panic attacks and too much confused mind. Surya/shani sees each other, surya from tauras and shani from scorpio very bitter enemies. 3rd graha is weak, 9th is strong. Very lawful attitude.

Very interesting comment. I am very, very rich spiritually, and my wealth in this area continues to grow. Right now it's a little slow though.
Materially and monetarialy, I'm actually quite destitute. Who knows what the future can hold, but at this stage I can't even afford food. Have scrappy clothes, running out of money for rent even. Unemployed. And I'm carrying a bladder infection that I wouldn't even dare to get treated.
Spiritually though, I am very wealthy and happy. It's the greatest.
