I want to discuss Yods on another thread I've been reading but I still haven't figured out if I do have one or not. My Mars in 3rd house in Aries 1deg and 24' seems to be inconjunct Nept. in 10th in Scorpio 7deg. and 22'; and inconjunct Pluto in the 8th in Virgo 3deg. and 35'.

I've had my chart done by Astrolabe many many years ago, and it didn't show up on that report. ? Is it considered too wide an orb possibly?

I have to say that I have always felt a bit 'impaired' where my truest career focus in life is concerned. A bit of an oddball and out of sync with the rest of world.

I just first need clarity on if this is indeed a Yod. Can someone please with this knowledge help me out? Thanks so much.

One inconjunct does not make a Yod. In order to be a Yod there must be two inconjuncts that meet at the same point in the chart. And I think the aspect you describe is definitely too wide to be an inconjunct.

Yoding,

I think people with 3 or more quincunxs are always bit restless and searching for answers, cos quincunxs cause internal stress and strains and the planets energies try to exert there influences. Some end of staying down one end, and occasionally try to other and others end up see sawing til integration is learned.

There has been many a good thread recently in 'Aspects' forum or try using the AW site search feature for more answers

Moon Quincunx (Inconjunct) Mercury

You end up confused at times because you read more into communications than are there. It's good to be able to read between the lines - just make sure you are also reading what is on the lines. Your expectations and imagination are assets as soon as you are able to develop a method for expressing your true feelings. Since many of your feelings are hidden from you, self expression becomes a path of self discovery.

SATURN INCONJUNCT URANUS
Saturn inconjunct Uranus indicates that you have difficulty establishing priorities in the obligations that you undertake. You may not admit it, but you let yourself be intimidated by others because you want their approval. You deceive yourself in believing that you can do any task as well as it needs to be done. The truth is that while you may do it well, you resent having to adopt new methods or innovations.

In a sense, you are locked up in the past, trying desperately to hold on to old concepts. You resist change because it threatens your security. Since you cannot prevent progress, isn't it logical to accept it and adapt yourself to it? The only insecurity you need fear is being out of step with what is generally accepted. Once you adopt the new, it will become part of your arsenal of experience and will sustain you.

Until you react more positively to change, your accomplishments will be limited. When you become more flexible, you can successfully compete with anyone. Although the past seems secure, it is only the experience you have gained that make it so. Life goes on, and tomorrow, next month, and next year will also become the past. Do not deprive yourself of the wisdom available through experience that are still to come. Be prepared for some stress between you and your mate. Your partner will recognise your tremendous potential and want you to develop it. Try to reach a compromise if this becomes an issue in the relationship. Others see your talents more clearly than you, so take advantage of their perspective.

Your life will be enriched if you strive to refine your talents and adopt new techniques that are more productive. Pessimism and a defeatist attitude can cause serious physical problems, such as arthritis or hardening of the arteries. If you are lucky, it will only result in cantankerous disposition.

Re: not a Yod, to starry

.....In order to be a Yod there must be two inconjuncts that meet at the same point in the chart. And I think the aspect you describe is definitely too wide to be an inconjunct.....

I use a maximum orb of 2 degrees for inconjuncts....But, I'd regard mars/pluto as inconjunct because it is only 9 minutes wider than 2 degrees (and pluto is retrograde).....However, at 5 degrees+58 minutes, mars/neptune is much too wide to be inconjunct.....But, It would be if Mars was at 5.22 to 9.22 degrees Aries......And, if mars was at 5.22 degrees Aries, I would view the whole configuration as a Yod.

So, as Tim says, you do not have a Yod.....However, you do have a planet located in three signs which are in a Yod relationship (Aries/Virgo/Scorpio)...and....on thread http://www.astrologyweekly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15271&page=4
there has been some speculation (which you may be interested in) as to whether or not such planets might feel/behave like a Yod even if out of orb.

However, since that thread is lengthy, the following comment thereon might be all you need for your purposes here :-

I see......So (say) Neptune 7 degrees Scorpio, Mars at 1 degree Aries and Pluto at 4 degrees Virgo.......Out of orb, but in Yod Sign formation.

So, the potential Yod disruption to the life of the individual is there....but with each sign/house triggered by transits and progressions one at a time rather than simultaneously.

Interesting point......a kind of "slow-burning" configuration, perhaps giving the individual more time/opportunity to "connect the dots" consciously.
