laid off, really depressed. when will new job come?

Hi, I got laid off at the beginning of May.
When will I find a new job? I had another job lined up earlier than this, but they were unable to follow through with an official offer due to lack of contracts.

-will another job come soon?
-will I instead have to go back to school? I already have a phd, but if I don't find anything, I will likely need to go back to school
