I was wondering if someone could give me a perspective on the pluto/eight house in my chart.

Pluto/eight house is something that I have always struggled with and been afraid of. I have often had difficult relationships with Scorpio people and sometimes feel uncomfortable with someone (for no reason) and then find out they are Scorpio. My mother was a scorpio and my relationship with her in my youth and early 20s was very strained, however, we became much closer before she died three years ago.

I have pluto in the first house and sometimes people have thought that I am scorpio myself. I have also lost a lot of family members and friends in my life from a very early age and for some reason I have focussed this on the pluto and eight house aspects in my chart. Because of this I get concerned about my own ending having these things in my chart.

I am not completely new to astrology, but I think that I am so subjective about this planet that it is difficult for me to analyse these elements of my chart objectively, so would appreciate any comments people may have.

Thankyou

Noticably your 8th house sun is Apex of Yod with pluto and neptune. there has been some good threads which may interest you.

Aries and Virgo do not have a lot in common in fact they are quincunxed signs, same with Scorpio to Aries.
Sun Quincunx (Inconjunct) Pluto

You are forced to focus, time and again, on details that you would prefer to ignore. When life slows down or becomes uncomfortable, simplify and be patient. You are changing and growing in ways that you can scarcely perceive. Stay involved in your everyday routines and only force a change on yourself when you feel stuck in some repetitive pattern.

My version is something like this, you may suffer from constant unrest and tension without knowing the reason why. Often gives enormous ambition and tendency to 'overdo' things. Cos you may feel insecure could become fiercely defencsive of others, possibly overmanipulate people, or may not even be aware of doing this, until people challenge you..

You have calculated your chart using the default on astro.com of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

Throughout the forums but mainly in natal astrology there are two main branches Placidus (unequal size houses) v Equal House (whereby each house is same size) but lots more……. For more information on these go here.

Now in Equal house your mars is in the 7th and Sun Jupiter and mercury are in the 8th house which gives great analytical ability to research, play detective to dig and delve, prob hate anything superficial

Your mercury/jupiter is involved in lovely grand trine with moon, pluto and uranus

My way of helping newbies is for them to do more research and learning rather than just ‘drop the answer in your lap’ and not necessarily to provide professional readings and forecast future events.
Having a Sagittarius MC is the sign of the teacher and I do indeed teach astrology. This forum is a wonderful community of all mixed levels. So instead of dropping the answer in your lap I may provide links and dangle carrots in the hope that if you are sincerely interested enough you will do the research and enlighten yourself….

Thankyou very much for your comments. It is very interesting the change in the equal house system as I am indeed a researcher and recently trained as a therapist as well (always wanting to look under the surface).

I see myself in your comments, although the training to become a therapist has changed the defensiveness, thankfully. Nor am I as restless, again owing to the training and probably aging now. I remain, however, quite an honest person and do tend to speak my mind in my employment situations (research) which doesn't always go down too well with everyone.

Previously, I have constantly 'overdone' things for e.g. working, studying, volunteering at the same time and this does impact upon my health. I have recently been forced to stop because of a problem with my spine (running around too much, travelling too much and carrying too much).

Thankyou very much for the links. I had forgotten about the default in Astro.com so will have a look at the equal house system and some of the other links.

I thought I knew quite a bit about astrology until I joined this forum (I certainly don't). I am looking forward to learning a lot more.

Thankyou again

I am afraid I have never come across the term Yod. Thankyou for the links to the forum on this. I will probably try and research this a little more on external sites as well.
