My daughter has a dog named Libby. Every time I visit ,Libby goes mad to see me [it's been noted in the family]. I haven't a timed chart for her birth, but do know the day.
Often times I use antiscia for synastry, and in this case was not disappointed. I wonder about others synastry with their pets. Libby's Jupiter is at the antiscion of my Venus /MC in Virgo= a love of animals. Her Mars is at the antiscion of my natal Mars and opposite my natal Mercury= a love of physical banter; she presents me with her toys and while we grapple for dominance growls at me, she loves every minute as do I. Her Sun in Cancer is sextile my Venus/MC = potential developing of a loving family relationship etc. Based on a noon chart, her Moon is at the antiscion of my ASC= her personality and activity aligns with my general projection into the environment. What is your experience with pet based synastry?

Out of curiousity, why do you use antiscia for synastry and not astroseek. What is this antiscia? I still have a lot to learn about astrology sorry if that’s a stupid question.

I've had two sun-Cancer dogs. Total love sponges.

I would also look at the pet owner's 6th house, which rules small animals. Some people are just totally into their pets. My husband and I have had 4 dogs sequentially. He looks after the dogs' basic needs, but has no interest in petting them or making a fuss. We've had dogs because I've wanted one. I imagine the owner in the dog's chart would be a 10th house matter, but it's hard to get a ToB for them. A close emotional bond with a dog is probably lunar.

I also think it goes to a certain extent by breed. Some breeds are by nature more affectionate than others.

My ex-puppy was a Leo sun. Very independent and had a mind of her own.

Never had birth data for my animals until now.

This is Sweetie, 13 August 2011. She's a full moon girl, Sun/Venus opposing her moon. The thing you most have to watch is that she likes to escape out of my flat if you know no better. So I take her out walkies. Apparently the owners of the mother had been trying to breed her with her own kittens, but these kittens were sick. Then the mother met a big black Tom but it seems these kittens were less wanted. She was 6 weeks and riddled with fleas when I got her. I've often suspected she might have a little Bengal in her.

Sweetie has a grand cross to her Cancer Mars involving Uranus, Saturn and Pluto, she certainly knows how to tantrum.

My second cat Pepi was born in late spring 2012, and she only has one eye. She's a torbie. She certainly has a thoroughly Taurean live of food and cuddles, but a Mercury in Aries means she is good at getting in there first, and she tends to steal Sweetie's food.

Many thanks waybread; been out of the loop in many respects.

Nexus7 With that grand cross and Bengal in her I should imagine she can be a right handful [ as in tantrums/ bolshiness etc].

She can be! She used to miaow constantly and throw herself at the exit door and pull down the handle, so I had to get sure to lock it. She used to sneak into all the neighbour's houses, all along the corridor, though one or two liked her enough to enjoy her visits. I bought her a leash, and take her walkies if she shows signs of cabin fever. She gets plenty of admiration and attention on her walkies, which sits well with her.
